Most of us are faced with concerns that we weren’t thinking about two weeks ago, experiencing major shifts in our lifestyles and our businesses, and facing new challenges as parents, entrepreneurs, and leaders.
On today’s podcast, Jon Berghoff joins me to discuss the conversations we should be having to find meaning and purpose, how to stop being paralyzed by uncertainty and accelerate your own learning, and how to step up as a leader and model great behavior for others - no matter what you do.
Jon is the founder of Xchange – a method that you can use to solve whatever challenges you’re currently facing. Over the past few weeks, he has been working on the front lines – not of medicine, but of group communication and collaboration – to help people make sense of their sudden and unexpected challenges, and to come up with solutions.
For the first time ever, today’s episode of the Achieve Your Goals podcast was recorded with a live audience, so that we could demonstrate for you in real time how to engage in the types of uncommon conversations that will enable you to solve the unexpected challenges you’re facing and create new opportunities.

The coronavirus pandemic sweeping the world is truly unprecedented in our lifetimes. This is a time in our lives when there is a massive need for leadership - not just from our leaders, but from every human being on the planet.
As a species, we’re going through a lot of firsts right now - new circumstances, new challenges, a lot of fear, and more uncertainty than many of us have ever faced. A lot of you are experiencing illness, stress, fear, anxiety, and financial hardship, and many, especially the elderly, are feeling more isolated and alone than ever before.
Last week, we talked about how to accept what you can’t control and focus on what you can. Today, we’re continuing that conversation and getting more actionable. This isn’t about logistics, groceries, or where to find toilet paper. It’s about managing your inner world, and finding stronger, more resilient, more conscious versions of ourselves through adversity.
To help me through this conversation, I’ve brought Brotha James back to the podcast. In addition to being an uplifting, conscious musician, he’s also a world-class facilitator. He helps unleash collective wisdom and group genius living inside people through intentional questions and meaningful conversations.
Today, we’re exploring how to reset and redirect your focus thoughts. There’s never been a better moment to optimize your mindset, your inner world, your inner freedom, and what you can control, and we’ve included six questions to help you work through this process as you listen to the podcast.

We all have problems, but how our problems affect us can differ greatly from one person to another. While one person might feel overwhelmed or even depressed by the problems we’re facing, someone else might actually feel optimistic and motivated, viewing their problems as opportunities for growth.
In the last year, I’ve dealt with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and severe sleep deprivation. And while these “problems” have been the most difficult I’ve ever dealt with (and am still dealing with), they have become my greatest opportunity for growth.
If we can change and reframe our perceptions, we can have a better quality of life. If we realize that the word “problem” is simply a label we’ve given to situations, and which amplifies our worst feelings - we can use them as a way to better understand ourselves, learn, and, most importantly, work through them.
In today’s solo episode, I want to show you how to look at “problems” through a new lens, shift your paradigm, and find not just solutions, but inner freedom.

Today’s Episode: “6 Years of Wisdom In 45 Minutes” is something very different. It’s an actual message taken from our Best Year Ever Blueprint (BYEB) Mentors program that we introduced this week.
I asked Chip Franks to choose one of his favorite videos from inside the program, and to use the audio for this week’s Achieve Your Goals podcast episode, to give you some added value this week.
This particular BYEB Mentors session that he chose features me, and my two dear friends, Jon Vroman and Jon Berghoff, sharing our most valuable lessons learned during the past 6 years of hosting the Best Year Ever Blueprint.
And while I’ve been pretty open about my struggles this past year, I’d say this is the most vulnerable I’ve ever been. This session takes you really deep into my lowest point, the reasons why, and more importantly - what you can do now if you’re struggling, too.
We also give you universally applicable self-awareness activities that you can immediately implement to improve any area of your life.
This is some extremely valuable knowledge—but something that we all know is that knowledge isn’t power, it’s only potential power.
So how do we put this into practice?
To help you put this into practice, we’ve put together some journaling (aka “Scribing”) questions in the BYEB Mentors program for this particular session and copied them in the show notes and we suggest you put them into practice.
